I went to Lybergers to support my son buying a new-ish (it's a used car dealership after all) vehicle. Robert promptly came out to greet us. He was very warm, mellow, and down to earth. Unlike every other car dealership I've been to over the years, he just wanted to let us know he was there to help and that he'd let us look around without being followed, and he did just that. My son, his wife and I looked over all of the cars they were interested in unimpeded by a salesman. When the time came, Robert was there to answer all of our questions. He just gave us information, not any bs; the pros and cons of the two vehicles that my son and his wife narrowed it down to. When it came to negotiations, Robert and Chris were very straight forward and to the point. I had several questions about the backend of used car business (book values, auctions, current wholesale market conditions, etc.) Chris was very honest (something I never dreamed I'd ever say about a car dealer), and went out of his way to produce facts and figures with very little conjecture. He was able to show us that my son's family was getting a pretty good deal.

After visiting several other dealerships and leaving dissatisfied I found my way to Lyberger's. I could not have asked for anything better than the treatment that we received from Martyn. I am a picky engineer who wants everything to make sense. I preferred a particular brand which he showed me, but also showed me a competitor which did not carry the premium price that my preference did. He then went on to show me that the (extended warranty) industry considers the two brands to be equally reliable - which was what I was most interested in. He also had the remote start added seamlessly and searched around and found the premium studded tires that I required. I had been doing repeat business with Lybergers since 2012. I have sent others there based on how I was treated. I went to their lot with my son in law and daughter last year when he was looking for a used truck. I was less than impressed with the salesman, he was really pushing this couple to sign a contract, NOW or you could lose the option to buy. I made the daughter stop and told them to check elsewhere for financial information. It was the smart move, they saved over 3% on a loan. Then, 56 days after the purchase, the transmission crapped out. They called Lybergers because there is a 60 day warranty on the vehicle. After 10 days of dodging phone calls Lybergers says there was no warranty on the vehicle? ($30k+ so not supposed to be a POS) I was with them prior to the purchase and was aware of the "60 day warranty". I am so disappointed in the actions of this business and the manner in which they treated their customers, I will not recommend them to anyone. In fact, if you think you need a vehicle do not purchase from them. Run the other direction.

So I was stationed overseas looking to purchase a truck for my upcoming PCS. I was looking at all the dealerships around Anchorage and Fairbanks. I was dealing with one of the big dealerships and they treated me like crap. They didn’t care about me one bit. I thought I was not going to be able to buy what I wanted. I did a search for used models of what I was looking for and Lybergers had exactly what I was looking for. I hit that button to contact them and got a call five minutes later from Loren. He didn’t waste my time. He asked what I wanted to pay, agreed to it, and even held on to the truck knowing I wouldn’t be there for 2 more weeks. We landed in Fairbanks, and hopped on a plane the next day to Anchorage. Robert picked us up at the airport exactly when he said he would and even drove the truck I was buying to let me test drive it back to the dealership. We got to the dealership, filled out the necessary paperwork to get started and moved over to Martyn to finalize everything. There was absolutely no pressure. We finished up in about an hour and off we went. I have never experienced a more lax buying experience in my life. If you are in the market for a used vehicle, be sure to not overlook Lybergers. When we are in the market for another vehicle, we will be heading back down to see these wonderful people without hesitation. I don’t even plan on looking at another dealership. OUTSTANDING!!! We arrived on their lot to browse their inventory just before closing time. We were quickly approached by a very friendly salesman, Jake. He asked us a few questions about what we were looking for and immediately showed us two trucks that fit our parameters. Mr. Lyberger received this call earlier this week. We're not telling you this to brag, but because we are so surprised that it happened. Mr. Lyberger got a call from a cousin of his, Jim Lyberger. He was buying a car in Kansas and was negotiating the last few hundred dollars. The dealership was stubborn and would not give in. His wife said she would pay the difference so Jim said "ok" but wasn't happy. The interesting part of this story is what happened next. When his last name was put on the sales board, a manager came up to him and asked him if he knew a Lyberger that owned a car dealership in Ks. Jim said "yes" he is my close relative. The manager said that he would be right back. The manager came back with the owner of the dealership in tow. This dealership in Ks. is near a military installation. The owner said that when soldiers come in and buy from him, his mgrs. aggressively work for referrals and tell their new customers that they want to be the best dealership they have ever bought a truck from. He has been told that "he can only be 2nd best because Lyberger's in Ak is the best that there is." That, "no dealer treats their customers as well as Lyberger's." Hi Richard, Robert & Lyberger Staff, Thank you for the photos and the sale of the HHR to us. The car was almost exactly what I (Mary) wanted from the color down to the sunroof and running boards. It doesn't have a compass which is the only minus. Everything else is so perfect that in the end, the compass didn't matter. Also, thank you to the staff for picking up the connecting wire to show us how the I-phone connected to the dash and that it worked. The multitude of people involved in the purchase was a bit confusing, but they were all quite nice. Hope that they weren't offended that I am not a hand shaker. My husband does that for us. In conclusion, this HHR must have been manufactured in Used Car Heaven just waiting for us to get home to purchase it. Thanks to all again & Best Regards. p.s. Dear Mr. Lyberger, On July 21st I purchased a vehicle from your business. I had such a positive experience that I felt I should write and let you know how much I appreciated your professional staff. I had been in to "look" at vehicles a few different times but had not made a decision what to do. A friend of mine, Dave Dalphonse, convinced me that I should certainly go back as he had a very positive experience with your service as well. So, I took his advice and found myself on your lot yet again on July 20th. I met several of your sales people but the one I dealt with on this occasion, as well as a previous occasion, was Donnie Walker. I felt lucky to have Mr. Walker as the person who assisted me with the purchase of my vehicle. I was unsure of how to get the best deal but at no time did Mr. Walker pressure me or make me uncomfortable, this was the "norm" at other dealerships. He answered all my questions honestly and even gave me information that helped me make the best decision for myself. I think this sort of service is above and beyond what you normally find in a car dealership environment. The financing of the vehicle was also painless. Fred Johnston was more than accommodating as he helped me get my loan. Being a single mother with past financial struggles had made me weary of being able to get financing. He assisted me and found be a great deal with an acceptable and reasonable monthly payment. The final stop was to sign the paperwork, and yet again, I received excellent service and great explanation on what everything was that I was signing. I want to thank you again for making it possible for me to purchase my Ford Explorer with such an outstanding, positive experience.
